Last Friday, I have ventured out into the woods with my IPad mini. The majestic Great Swamp was finally opened after being closed due to federal government shutdown. Right after work, around 2:40pm I drove there, parked the car, and started walking. The woods were moving around me – a fallen leaf here, a bird call there. It was beautiful.

Then I just started snapping pictures of whatever caught my eye: a leaf, a tree trunk, a blade of grass, sky, a creek, late afternoon sun… I let my imagination run wild. I sniffed the tree bark, raked leaves with my bare hands, sat and listened to the sounds, picked up three different kinds of leaves and tucked them into my pocket, balanced myself of the trunks of fallen trees, like a kid. These pictures are some of the evidence from that mini trip into the woods. I entered stressed, I emerged rejuvenated.
